If you learn it, teach it...

What should be discussed at start-up group meetings?

Following groups like SMC-Sydney and hearing responses from students/teachers nationally has shown me that there are groups of people that want to get #SMCEDU started in their areas.

The first step to doing this is getting people together...the usual question will most likely be: "What's next?"

I'd like anyone who's interested in attending one of these meetings, or better yet, someone who's already attended, to offer up some talking points and advise on next-steps.

We're keeping people in touch here, but local groups have the ability to do so much! Please share your thoughts and help others get started!

In Richmond, SMCRVA is working with Virginia Commonwealth University to host a panel discussion for students, faculty and business owners. We are seeking an inclusive model that brings people from various schools and experiences together to share what they know. Our panel includes a professor, student, recent graduate, recruiter, and tech blogger. We are hopeful that this will create a dynamic event with a variety of viewpoints.

Thanks, Kendall! I think the panel discussion will be a great opportunity for all to share their thoughts on SM. If anybody is in the area, let us know of any points you'd like discussed!
